I recently went to toronto, canada from the US and as i went through customs they stamped cancelled without prejudice in my passport and gave me a peice of paper and said that i had to return it. So i returned it on the date that i was suppose to and continued my way back to the US. I have to go back to Canada to meet my girlfriends parents next week. Can i use that same passport at customs again or do i have to get a new one because it says cancelled without prejudice?

Cancelled with out prejudice usually refers to the visa, not the passport.   Did you have a Canadian visa?  In general it would mean that your visa is no longer valid and you have apply again.  Can you describe what information was on the "paper" you returned?
