Has any of you have had experience with cancellation of ATT cellphone contracts without paying early termination fee if moving out of country?

Cell phone providers are such sticklers with their fees  Sad

How much longer do you have on the contract?
If you don't roam while out in Canada, then I'd say just keep using it until the contract is over.

I have Verizon and I roam when I'm in Canada, so I just use it for txt messages.

SCREW the contract if you don't have plan to return to US. The companies are simply money suckers.

I canceled my AT&T contract when I moved here, but I went ahead and paid the fee.  I think the fee was reduced by the number of months I had left on the contract or something like that.  I'd call them and chat with them about it.  Canceling because you're moving out of the country is a little different than changing service providers.  If nothing else, it sure cuts the sales talk!
