Canadian Immigration & Work Permit / Visa

Recently I investigated my options of immigrating to Canada. I contacted an immigration consultant and supplied all of the required information and was told that my chances are good, however I need a job offer to assist with the process as my management experience is varied and doesn't fit under any of the listed titles.
Question is now how do I go about it. How does one find a business within Canada willing to offer a job to an applicant that isn't from Canada and whom they'd then have to assist in the work visa application process too? Don't companies usually shy away from the additional red tape? Having been in a position of hiring staff, I know that there's a time limit as to how long a company is willing to wait for a new employee to start work and contribute to their business... What if a company wants to interview me in person - I can't enter Canada without a visa. What type of visa would I apply for in this case? Unfortunately not all businesses are willing to conduct an interview via the telephone or even the like of Skype.
If anyone has any advice or information on how I can succeed in the above, please advise. The part of Canada that I'm looking at is British Columbia.
Thanks

Hello Chanty,
Allow me first to comment before answering your questions. I wonder how your immigration consultant said your chance to apply is good while your duties don't fall on any of the 29 NOC. Applying thru arranged employment is non 29 NOC specific, and hence it is open to whoever manages to get a job offer. What a consultant!!! Just be careful.
Well, to get a job offer, you need to have contacts there in Canada, who can get you connected with employers there. Applying thru online job sites like monster.ca might bring some luck, however, absolutely minimal, you still can try it.
Though companies prefer to conduct face to face interviews, however, depending on your speciality and contacts, phone interviews might work for you. You still need to be smart enough by encouraging canadian employers reach you faster by, for instance, use a local Canadian phone number that they use to reach you. There plenty of firms that provide you numbers in Canada for recording local calls at very affordable prices. Google it to learn more.
Hope this helps,
Cheers!
