According to numbers obtained from the Citizenship and Immigration Department through the Access to Information Act. the federal government hopes to reduce overall immigration next year by five per cent, mainly by cutting back on family reunification visas.

That is correct,We had a record number of Permanent Residents last year,So FSW CEC and PNP are fine  Cheesy but family will be cut back . Sad This is based on the opinion of an MP on the Immigration Commitee in Parliament .being NDP He is oppossed to this

FSW will also cut back from 70,000 to 56,000

so that will lead to more rejection this year.......

Because they think they are letting in more immigrants than they can adjust.. they still need lots of immigrants but want to let in as many as infrastructure can support...........

why this year? Undecided

I guess that may happen, CIC don't operate in a vacuum. (Even though we may think that sometimes).

I guess, the issue here is a lot of the Immigrants are not getting jobs, and they become a burden on the system after they have exhausted the funds they have brought with them.

My friend not many leave Canada once they get in. We've seen numerous number of people who have posted on this forum that they are not getting a job and have been warning others, but would still not leave.
