Need info from someone who would have shifted to Canada and have been able to successfully  exchange his or her country license with a Canadian Class 5 license without appearing for any knowledge or road test.

As per the reciprocal licensing poilicy,if you are holding a DL from a ctry (which is in specified list),you need not appear for any knowledge/road test.

I need to check how difficult was the process in terms of requirement of various documents(in case we need to show any document form the reciprocal country)

cheers!

Thnx for pointing me to this useful piece of info

However I am looking for some specific info in terms of regulations from a reciprocal country. One of the things required is min 2 years of driving record however some of the states DL(in US) do not mention the issue date.I just wanted to check with someone who have been in a similar situation that how do we need to prove this 2 years in such cases

cheers

you have to mention them (US DMV office) that you need drivers licence abstract with licence issue date, expiry date and other details i.e. DOB,Name, Licence class etc...

I had similar situation with NJ DMV, they first send me the absract without Issue date of Licence so Ontario DMV refused then I wrote to NJ DMV again along with sample of document and they sent me as I wanted.. and then I could exchange my US licence with Ontarios G licence.
Hope this will help

Yes, Qorax did a good job explaining all that... I'm gonna try and land with my home license to help a little bit...
