Hi,

Was wondering if anyone could help me, as we are currently filing out the forms to get a Canadian Citizenship Certificate for both of my Daughters (One is 3yrs old and the other is 8 months old), the thing that has us stuck is proof of identification having their photos on it, other than a passport, I can't think of anything else to provide as proof of ID. Can't even tink of another form of ID with or without a photo to use as the second piece of personal ID. Any suggestions?Huh It suggest a driver's license or health care card, but we have neither of these for the girls...

Also what could I use as proof that I was a canadian citizen at the time of there birth? My birth  Canadian certificate or passport ( my passport has expired)?

cheers for the help

I would assume they are asking for your ID and not the ID cards of the minor children.

As for the proof of citizenship, use both your birth certificate and passport.  Can't go wrong.

If you were applying through a Canadian embassy, i.e. you lived outside Canada, you could take the originals to the embassy and a consular officer would certify the copies for you.  So, I assume that certified true copies sufffie for applicaitons within Canada.

I recall seeing in the Guide to completing the application a list of those who are qualified to certify true copies.
