My husband is a canadian citizen sponsoring me. My file is being processed thru the Abu Dhabi office.  I have heard that he being a canadian citizeh he has the right to check with the CIC mississauga why they are taking so long to process my file....is this right. Does it hold any weight if he is a canadian citizen for the file to be processed soon.

You both should have access to ecas to check the status of your file. Otherwise, if you want more information he can request the GCMS notes on your file (the notes kept by the immigration officials) on your behalf.

His status as a Canadian citizen has no weight in terms of getting the process filed any faster. He could try contacting his local MP if he believes that your file is taking an abnormal amount of time, and they can inquire on his behalf/increase pressure on the immigration office.
