My status in Canada is visitor. I received LMO confirmation on June 14. I had the medical done June 21 in Canada and I recently called the hospital where I had the medical check. The hospital told me they send the results straight to immigration on July 14. Is it ok to bring a prove that I had completed my medicals on a specific date at Canadian border to apply working permit?
Is there a way to check my medical results are in the computer in Ottawa? I called 1-888-242-2100 but the line is always busy. I went Service Canada to ask my status. Since this is not an in Canada application there is no file created. There was my LMO confirmation in computer but no medical information or no file created.
April 23, 2011 - submitted Application for LMO
June 14, 2011- received LMO Confirmation
June 21 2011 – had medical exam
July 14, 2011 - medical exam results sent
Please help me through!
I assume you had a medical check because you had lived in a "designated country" before traveling, is that right?
Sending the medical results is not usually the last step. They also need to examine the medical results and then let you know if they want further testing done.
I had to go through this when I relocated to Canada a few years ago because I had been working in Brazil for the previous year. There was a wait of around 5 weeks from when we sent the results to when we were given the green light to travel to Canada.
Are the company who applied for the LMO using immigration lawyers to help with the process? If so, everything should go through them and they will tell you when you are OK to apply at the border. If they are good at their job, they will also give you a letter to present to the immigration officer at the border which tells them everything they need to know about your case. Then you just hand that over with your qualifications etc. and answer any questions the officer has.
