The problem will be that if they get in with a majority, they are likely to be even harder on immigration (and other things).

I see some support for KENNY in INDIA. If he wins or loses , that doesn't disappoint me. It probabaly does disappoint you if he loses, obviously you belong to the fast track 38 category. as a person who has waited for more than 7 years(with the curse of KENNY) will not get bogged down with his win or defeat.

Well  public opinion doesn't reflects in toppling a federal govt as its not the public but the opposition MP's usually responsible in doing that... led by the politics in upper shelf (house of commons)... Public votes to elect MP's... Majority lead one party to form Government but as Harper Govt had been a minority govt... there was every chance to get toppled by the liberals and their coalition and that's exactly happened.....Fourth Election in last 7 years!!! But if there is fresh election Conservatives have still chance to regain their power.......

Well so far I know thats the common way of doing opinion survey to predict peoples choice of to be vote (popularity/performance)... it may not reflect the ultimate outcome always and might get changed over time as the poll time closely approaches... given the commitment of one leader or by the running debate on some issues opponents raised to the public.... and after all these some major twist/ shift might occur overnight at the very end like what happened in US during J W BUSH second regime!! Anyways its too early to comment or predict... We are not much into the nitty gitty of Can politics but just hope it goes well for the greater interest of all of us....

I am afraid you don't understand the politics in Canada.
1.  It was the Liberal Gov't who lowered the points from 75 to 67 as an election ploy, creating the massive backlog we see today.
2.  There were more immigrants "landed" in the past year than in the past 30 years.
3.  Go back to the old system?  Then if you don't mind waiting 10/15 years for your application to get to the top of pile.
4.  Remember Immigration is for CANADAS benefit, not the applicant.

1.  Lowering the points was not a crime.  The Govt. should put in more staff and speed up clearing the cases.
2. Those immigrants landed in the past year were according to the new 'Category' system (according to their choice) and they left the old applications for roiting.
3. If somebody had applied under the old systems, it is not a sin.  It is the responsibility of the Govt. concerned to clear the backlog instead of making lame excuses and keep the applications linger on for years.
4. Yes, CIC is viewing it from their benefits and applicants will see it from their own point of view.

Above all, PMM is not concerned with the sentiments of the backloggers because he has not applied 7 years ago.

Injustice is not at all expected from a country of multi-culturism and liberal attitute.

No. Do not go back to the old system. No one is asking for that. Just to be treated fairly on first come first serve basis as promised. It is unfair for people to wait for 7/8 years when others (post feb 2008) are getting visas in 7/8 months.

Well said pb55.  Sorry I have expressed my concern a little bit loudly, but I am right.  PMM is not worried because he has not applied under the old system and he is not in trouble because of foolish policies of CIC.
