hey frnds
so this is how my profile look
10th - 92%
12th - 51.5 % (non medical) (maths-40%)
IELTS - 7.5 bands (listening - 9, reading - 8, writing 7, speaking -6.5)
i selected pre-technology course(1 year) in mohawk college
and applied under SPP n got visa refusal for the reasons stating that
"proposed program not reasonabel in light of past studies, academic scores, weak language abilities as indicated in documents provided and the vast opportunities to do the program in india at far lesser cost"
so now i want to apply again for may session for canada
can anyone of u suggest me some good college and course suitable for my profile
as i think i got refusal due to selection of wrong course
also i want to know dat from which date the embassy will start accepting applications for student visas for may intake.
thanks in advance in hope of co-operation

 @  enfield

It's a One-Year Ontario College Certificate Program. It's like B.tech First Year.  After successfully completing this course a student can get direct admission into the following year to a Technology career program.

Hi,

1. Change your course, possibly to a full undergraduate degree.

2. You need minimum 20 posts to enjoy all fundamental rights of the forum membership  :-)

@ Rupak: thanks, but the course really looks strange.

@   enfield well the course is not strange. This is what I feel, no hard feelings. I think this course shows, more of a student's intention to study. The student wants to take an year to see in which field he feels to make a career. Many of my friends have successfully gone to pursue such courses successfully, though they are in universities rather than a community college. Moreover the academics are also fine leaving aside the percentage in 12th. Good scores in 10th and IELTS. This makes me think 'Does the embassy really bothers to see a case properly or they just follow lottery system. I feel the rejection was somewhat strange... provided there weren't any other loops like gap or lesser finances etc. I am only a student, not an expert...these were my personal views.

Hi,

Yes, you are right. I do not think if VO's are experts in all subject. Do you think if they can talk about/understand all subjects like Law, Business, Accounts, Science etc. I think they follow some very general rules (no matter what you think).

I am not from 'Technology' side/subject, still after reading his post, my "first reaction" was;

1. "What's the logic behind studying a 1 year certificate course "right after 12th standard"?

2. Is it important to go to Canada to study such a course?

I thought it even when I do not even understand the meaning of "Pre Technology Certificate" course.

So, now you can understand the reaction of VO as well.

Well yes u are right...that would have been the reaction of person not belonging to a technical line. But the thing is... that it did probably ruin 6 months-1 year of a person's life. I know ' the permission to study in canada is a privilege not a right' but still !

I think why the visa officers refuse you guys is you are applying for crappy colleges. Mohawk College? I have never heard of that, and I live in Canada, these so called colleges are worthless and their just trying to suck your money, its all bs fraud.

Apply to reputable Universities.
