YES, u can get the Visa stamping done in the same day.

The important thing is to go as early as possible so that u can et the visas before noon. Else, they'll call u back after lunch again. But, rest assured that it is only 1/2 a day's task.

My friend also drove the same a/n, after lunch, to perform his landing. Yes... straight by road, the same day... crossing Detroit. Driving over the Ambassador Bridge and moving straight into Windsor.

They took the Highway 401 (Queen Elizabeth Way) and approx 5+ hours of driving into Mississauga. Yeah, they rested overnight at  a hotel in windsor, before commencing early the next day.

 @ qorax

Thanks a lot for the infomation.

Can i be able to complete the landing formalities, when i am travelling using a public transit like Greyhound to Toronto from Detroit ?

Also, which is preferrable ? Landing at Airport or Landing at Border ?

Thanks

Friend,

1. About Greyhound I wouldn't know, As I'm not aware what they'd do while u r waiting at the POE for 'record of landing'.
2. Either way it's same. By road maybe cheaper for u though, I'm not sure.

See u at Toronto !

hi  everyone

I also got my passport request from Detroit. I can see the blog and someone said that we can get the passport stamped on the same day.

Did you got your passport stamped the same day ?  Also would like to ask if we can get the passport stamped from buffalo rather than doing it from Detroit even though we got the request from Detroit.

I am going to india 1st week of march so would like to get the stamping done ASAP.

Please reply back as this is little urgent.

Thanks a ton in advance

1. Yes, it can be stamped the same day. Actually it takes only 1-2 hrs, except for the queue.
2. No, u can get it stamped ONLY from the PPR issuing CHC. In your case: Detroit [not Buffalo].

@  qorax : thank u very much for the response.... mine was a typical case. i applied in federal category and that through a consultant  the. I sent my file in Jan 2008 and got the final approval 20 days back . The  process got delayed a lot because i never submitted IELTS and thn all other police clearance certificates on time.

infact i wanted the approval to come little later as i wanted to stay in US but now i am all set to move to canda... : )
