Hi,

I have sent application on 24th-Aug-11 through DHL, and it was reached on 31st-Aug-11 as per DHL tracking. But till date havent received any Acknowledgement letter from Canadian consulate. Almost 5 weeks/41 days passed.

I have sent full application package including fees and all required docs.

Anyone can guide on Acknowledement time from canadian consulate.

Thanks in advance. . . . . . .

Up to 3 months time is normal. Join the discussion thread of August or September 2011.

Ohhh.. Thanx wilson.

So what will be the criteria for acceptance of application. It means that AOR not received till the time respective application is neither accepted by CIO for processing nor counted in a complete application package received at CIO.

Hi DD2211,

I think you need to know what is the routine on a FSW application at CIO.

This is how all new applications are processed.  Applicants are required to submit their FSW immigration forms with all the supporting documents to the Central Intake Office (CIO) ,Sydney, NovaScotia.

If all went well, and your application is deemed complete, CIO will make a final determination of eligibility against the Ministerial Instruction (MI) Criteria , and cash the application fee is everything is okay. If not all goes back to the applicant.

Next, CIO will proceed to processing the application against the FSW minimum requirements, which is in reality an assessment of your work experience as declared on your  immigration forms.

Next, provided your work experience meets the minimum requirements then, your application moves to FSW selection criteria, which include: education, language, experience, age, arranged employment if any and settlement funds.

CIO will give each factor a score, total it , and if you pass, then the entire application is forwarded to the visa office which you identified on your IMM 0008 for a final selection decision which includes an interview if required, a medical exam and a background check.

As you can see, your application is passed on, and if there are no bumps or delays, from one Que to another, in CIO, that are relatively short ques and competition for visas is low, and everything is done in CIO including the final determination of eligibility.

Hope you are clear up to this point. Good luck!!
