Waaaiiit a minute - I just realized that it's in Canada.  Nevermind.  I guess you can't go to Canada to get it unless you have your passport!  What a pain!

Is it possible to have someone go to the office on your behalf to see what's going on?

Send NY a fax - make sure you enclose your File number, address, name, date of birth and a phone number for them to call you.

i already called the general cic number they had nothing to tell me at all
i am actually currently in canada so even if i wanted to go to new york i couldn't because i cant get back into the states with out a passport
the best part
in nyc, i live walking distance from the immigration office. i was originally just going to deliver it myself and give the hubby a chance to go back to new york ( he likes hanging out with my brothers) but they dont allow hand deliver has to be via mail.

Another option if you think the passport might be lost is apply for a new one ASAP. You could probably visit the closest US embassy or consulate and get the process rolling.

I would still try and get in touch with NY first though, have you already sent them faxes and emails.
