sigh, so, Canada post seems to have lost my passport, they have the acceptance scan from when i brought it in but no scan from it crossing the boarder or being delivered. they say that doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't, but they have no record of anything other than my mailing it. are you allowed to contact the immigration office and find out if they've received it? i know its frowned on contacting them before 90 days  to check your app status but im not checking my app status i just want to be sure my passport isn't off in god knows where. i went out of my way to make sure i sent it express five day with tracking just to prevent this
i'm starting to wonder if it wouldn't have been a better idea to send the passport along with my application and a return envelope from the very beginning at least i know they got that

They screwed up my application when I sent it in too. I feel for you. Hang in there and keep calling.  Don't take no for an answer.  And tell them they suck!

For future reference, I suggest when sending very important documents through mail services, makes sure it's registered and gets a signature when someone from where you're sending it to picks it up. That's what I did. I sent mine with Canada Post and also added insurance of $100 which costed me only a few $. It gave me so much peace of mind. Mississauga got our pkg in 2 days. I tracked it online and could even see the signature.
Yes, just be patient. I'm hoping for your sake, it got there. Good luck.

awwww i hope they didn't loose it!!

what i find when shipping things to/from the US is that sometimes the receiving country updates their system (days) before the sending country.... try punching the same tracking number in the USPS website and see if you get any sort of differing info...

that's all i can offer to suggest... give it a few more days, hopefully it's just a customs blip...

I did send mine this way... they still lost it.  I'm pretty sure the OP did too.

And I would for sure call... they arent going to give you *censored word*... it's your passport, that's serious business.

maybe things are different in the US... dealing with the Kingston Jamaica office meant a trip in to ask a question... the number provided was an IVR and could not be used to reach a real live individual!

good luck

Have you tried using the same tracking number from Canada Post on the USPS website?
My dad once sent a document from India using Indian Post Express, and there is an international section on the USPS website that allowed me to enter the same tracking number and track the parcel in the US

Also, I also know that documents can get stuck in customs for 3-10 days and during that time period the USPS has no control over the package...so its possible that your passport is stuck in customs for some reason.
If you are unable to track the package on the USPS website, you could try calling USPS up and give them your canada post tracking number...they may have a way of pulling up your record

the package was never scanned after the initial me paying for it scnn so the tracking on it is useless
yeah tracking only works if they actually bother to track it, sigh, turns out there is no contacting CCG new york AT ALL. you are allowed to email them but they wont reply to your emails unless its been over 90 days, over 90 days is after the 60 day mark for them to recieve my passport so theres no way for me to know if they received it or if its  actually lost and because the post office cant  reach them either they have no clue if they have delivered it
part of me wants to report my passport stolen to the US embassy but what if it did arrive safely and is just waiting to have my visa put in i don't want to void it and have to go through this all over again, but if its lost and the 60 day mark comes and goes, it means i have wasted two thousand dollars and a great deal of time and energy just to have to start again

i really don't know what to do

ps, there is no info on usps site either the item literally has never been scanned other than the one time

I'm so sorry! I sent my fiance his passport which he left in my car (yeah, it's brilliant) via UPS and they managed to screw it all up and lose it. Luckily they ended up finding it, but it took about 2 extra weeks and 100 phone calls.. so this could have happened with any courier, unfortunately.

Do you think you could contact the general CIC number? Just try to get ahold of a real person somewhere and explain the situation and see what they think you should do. Perhaps you may even need to go to the NY office and see what's going on. I know that might really suck and be expensive (I don't know how far you are) but it may be the only option. Sorry I don't have any other suggestions.

Could you not go to the office in person and ask them?  I'm assuming you're in New York based on your screen name...perhaps you could do a day trip and see what's up.

Good luck, hope you find it!
