I'm wondering if anyone else out there has ever had problems with Canada Post delivering their application.  We sent ours in by Xpresspost.  The woman behind the counter promised me that it would get there next day (with signature)  I am pretty sure I asked her 100 times if she was sure (they almost lost our medicals when my husband mailed them to me, we spent 2 hours on the phone jsut to get someone who would give us more than a ět`s in our policy to not do anything`answer) - she said it would be fine.  However, today they went out on the truck for delivery and didn't get delivered.  They went back to the sorting centre in Mississauga and Canada Post has no idea why.

Anyone ever had a Canada Post delivery problem to CPC Mississauga?

Sounds like a "glitch." Hopefully it will get there next day. Make sure you ask for a refund as they will refund the entire shipping cost if they don't meet their promise.

I called them and nearly lost it on the poor guy on the other end.  This is the SECOND time in a week they have done this.  They were going to return my husbands forms to the UK as the address was ěncomplete`(it wasn`t, the carrier was just to lazy to use her brain), we literally called about 20 different times until somoene would listen to us, a kind gentleman hopped on the back of a truck and grabbed it before it started a return journey that would have taken another 2 weeks.  I really should have known better and used fedex, but what is the likelyhood if this happening twice in the week to the same document??!?!?!?!??!?!

I've never been so angry and dissapointed in my life.  I just want somoene inside that organization to tell me why me and my husband have to wait another day to be together because they can't provide the service I paid for.

I`m beginning to think my husbands medical is cursed, or I am.  Or Canada Post jsut fails to epic proportions.

I just dont understand why they would not deliver it... they took it out - then brought it back.  I opened a file.  But similar to your situation, this is rediculous.  Their customer service is horrible to say the least.  To anyone reading this, who may send an app in - use Fedex or UPS or something other than Canada Post.

I totally agree about Canada post, but I can also add that the other services are not much better - we used UPS 3 times, and 2 times of them we were not happy with them as well.

Delivery companies all suck, private or government. Just use whichever one and then pray...

Unfortunately nobody is immune to mistakes. All you can do is pick the one you've heard makes the least mistakes and then, as Karlshammar said, pray they don't mess up.

We used Xpresspost to mail our app and it got there with no problems (mailes thursday afternoon from Vancouver, arrived monday morning).

Canada Post worked well for me also. Sent the apps from Calgary around noon on a Friday, and they were signed for in Mississauga at 08:00 on Monday morning. Couldn't have asked for any better than that.

I used Xpress post, and it worked fine.I am sure with over 99% of cases it is fine..But maybe like a lottery (only a negative spin),odds of winning it once are very small, winning it twice is insanely small, and yet it has happened. I feel bad for anyone who has problems with postal service, as that is just one very important component. This adventure has enough stress without having to worry about postal service ):

PHEW!   They got delivered today.  Still no reasoning as to why they didnt deliver it Friday as promised.  I will be issued a refund.  The app is still there - and now the joyful process of sitting on our hands begins.

I am also facing the same issue, i sent my PR application to Buffalo by Canada Post Expedited USAservice on 14th Nov 2009, the lady behind the counter said that it will reach in 5 days, Believe me its almost 10 days and still the tracking information shows that it has been picked up at local post office. I am really worried about this, as all of you know that the Application contains few Original documents. Please let me know if any one has faced this situation before.

We actually just had a battle with Canada Post - it didn't end here for us.  It was supposedly delivered on the 22nd, I received my email confirmation.  Then on the 24rth, to my surprise I got another confirmation that our package had been delievered again!  Turns out Canada Post thinks it was delievered to the wrong address and returned, but they aren't really sure what happened.  What they do know is that it is there now, because it was signed for... BUT wasn't it signed for the first time???  So we sit and try to trust an organization that has totally lost all the confidence we have in it in the past month.  I guess we'll find out in about a month if they managed to get it in the right hands. When I filed my complaint I told them - this isn't a telephone bill, these are people's lives and we paid for a service that you failed us on, miserably.   I will never use Canada Post to ship again, and I ship a lot.

I started another thread to see if anyone had their package signed for by an S. Sara, no one answered it other than to say that CIC-M got 10k pieces of mail a month.  I would assume there would only be a few people that would actually sign for couriers in the CPC-Mississauga location - no matter how many pieces of mail they recieve.  It always filters through just a few people in recieving/reception.

-end rant-

Good luck though rmharan - there is nothing worse than the unsure.

You cannot send PR applications to Buffalo.  You must send them to Mississauga.  The Buffalo consulate will probably send it back to you at some point.

edit: It looks from your posting history like you're not a family class applicant.  Never mind.
