When I was preparing to move to Canada ... I considered shipping all my stuff and furniture to Canada so i researched and planned to do that ... however, after I arrived to Canada I moved a lot till I settled in my apartment. So I thought of sharing my experience with you :

For anybody hiring movers, beware. Try to get feedback from friends, coworkers, immigration center or whoever who has used a certain company and can vouch for them. Get an estimate in writing before proceeding. It has happened to people I know that the bill doubled from the time their stuff got loaded until it was delivered. If you don't pay the bill, they will not unload your stuff but take it to storage and then your bill will be even higher plus it's possible they will lose some of your stuff in storage. Your only option would be to pay and sue them later which again is hassle, you lose time off work etc.

Finding reliable International movers is not as easy as finding a local movers or long distance movers. And Find the best local moving companies who can move you a distance less than 100 miles and within the state.
