Nobody will help you get a job here, you have to do that yourself. Unlike middle east where jobs are handed to you on a golden platter you'll have to look for jobs once you land here.

There are immigration consultants that can help you, but I can't recommend one as we completed the paperwork ourselves. There are loads of recruitment agencies out there, like in the UK. We just Googled for the ones in Edmonton, which is where we're going. 'Monster' seems to be the best one for us at the moment..
Good luck with your application xx

Thanks  for all the replys,

My main concern is finding the right immigration consultant and just hope they dont run of with my money or there just trying to scam me. I could fill the forms in myself but would I get everything correct ? probably not  Wink.

If anybody could recommend a immigration consultant around ontario that would be great who they have dealt with and was happy that would be great.

The CIIP sounds like a good idea but you have to have started the process before been allowed to attend and the only thing that cocerns us is work getting there and not been able to get a job.

Has anybody reading this gone from the UK to canada Id be interested to read how it all went.

Regards Paul

A few months ago we were in the same boat as yourselves, now we are just about ready to put in our application ourselves
It's really not that complicated.
However it does take time, lots of  research and some head scratching.

If instead you prefer  to pay some money while someone else takes away some of the pain fair enough - many do !

As for asking about others experiences try this site  www.britishexpats.com    If you don't see much in the Ontario section look at Nova Scotia....there are some good reviews and experiences there...many of them quite universal , so will be the same in Ontario

Good luck

Hi Paul,
I'm from the UK, currently living in Canada on a one-year working holiday visa and applying for permanent residency through being sponsored by my Canadian boyfriend.
When I first thought about emigrating, I went along to an Expo Canada exhibition about immigration. Check the web for the next dates. There were stands from employers, shipping companies, immigration lawyers etc. I also went to a seminar by someone from Willis Brazolot & Co, who talked about the immigration process. He gave me some sound advice, which proved very useful! I didn't need to use them to apply for my type of visa though, so can't comment on the company.

Beware of any company who says that they can guarantee you a job or speed up the application process: THEY CAN'T. If you can find a job yourselves, that will help with getting a work visa, but you'll need to be in a skilled profession that needs overseas workers to fill gaps. The other way is just to apply for a visa (it will take longer without a job) and then find a job when you arrive. Without knowing the details of your situation, it'd be best for you to get a consult with a firm that can advise on the best way forward for you, but I'd strongly recommend doing all the forms yourself (if you're up to it!) Ultimately, companies will charge you lots and, beyond helping you understand the forms, won't be able to do anything more for you. Immigration Canada actually has a big push warning people about using representatives, look at their website about 'using representatives'

Hi all,

Thanks a lot for your recommendation. I hope will get my visa granted next month so that I can go ahead to base on that to apply an open work permit and the sponsor application. I will up to date if I have any further news.

Good luck to all of you

You'll probably get more answers if you post your question to the skilled worker section of this forum:
