On your day of orientation those are services that you shall be taken through e.g international student accounts, medical services plan etc.
I remember during our orientation we had all that explained to us-We had representatives from various banks.
Well in case you wont have that,i highly recommend R.B.C(Royal bank of canada).Just walk in any branch of RBC wanting to open a student account.
No monthly fees, only savings and allows you to do wire transfer for 13 CAD per transaction.Pretty owesome.I just helped some guy open his on Monday.
Only copy of your study permit
RBC is good but costly.
Nova Scotia or TD Trust is cheaper so don't bother with RBC unless you want to pay a premium on every service.
Secondly NS & TD have more ATMs on various college campus as compared to RBC.

Give it another few weeks and you'll be even more surprised. It's warm in Toronto right now for this time of year.
Come visit Edmonton during winter..

No thanks.
Toronto is still incredibly warm right now. Hope this weather stays around for another few weeks (or even days!).

Hello friends ,
i reached Canada on this 20 .
The immigration from Delhi was very easy and only took 5 minutes.
the officer just asked about the course duration and purpose .
no need to show any loan letter .
then the Air India flight was on its time.
landing was 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
then first step was to go to the immigration dept .
the people on air port are very friendly , just ask them anything with a smile on ur face .
there will be a line on immigration , but staff is also in huge number , so waiting time is only 5 minutes.
Greet the officers with a smile and a good morning,
they will just ask for ur passport and the fees receipts .
and they will ask u few questions like the duration of study and where r u going to stay with , just tell them that ur friend is going to pick u up and u r going to reside with him.
then they will issue ur study permit .
as soon as u receive ur baggage , wear all ur warm clothes and jackets , coz as u will step out of the air port , u will come to know about the cold weather. haha
i was surprised when i stepped out of the air port .
oh yeah one thing more .'
they never check ur laptop ar hard drives for any content .
so dont hesitate to bring ur softwares .
if u want to know anything more just PM me . or reply here.
Hi,
Congrats Bro !
