can you apply open work permit without husband's lmostatus/approval?Urgent pls !

Hi,
   My husband's WP is expiring this month end (sept 25th,2011) and so is my open work permit. He is still waiting for his LMO result.He applied for his LMO by July 1st,2011. He is a software programmer.

1)  My husband is planning to apply for his WP extension and later inform the CIC if he gets the LMO result by calling the CIC number. Am I eligible to apply for Open work permit extension given that my husband's LMO is still in progress ?

2) Or should i quit my full time job, and change my status to visitor ?

No, you are not eligible until your spouse gets his TWP.
