Experts..please advise..
I am a software profession with 6 years experience currently in US. Suppose if my spouse gets a student visa and moves to Canada and based on that I get a dependent work permit, will I be able to apply for a PR if I get a AEO. If it is possible how long I need to wait.

1. Can I apply for PR immediately after I get and AEO and start working in Canada on dependent work permit.
2. Wait for 1 year.
3. Wait for 2 years.

If you get an AEO and qualify to apply under the federal skilled worker program, you can do it right away.

If that doesn't work out, your employer may be able to sponsor you through PNP.

If that doesn't work out, you qualify to apply under Canadian experience class after 2 years of skilled work as long as you have at least 3900 hours.

Because your job is not on the most wanted list, you need an AEO to be able to apply.  See http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-employment.asp for more info on this.
