Hi All,
I've been admitted to a 2 year graduate program (MBA) at the University of Toronto. I am a citizen of India and am currently residing in India as well.
In order to apply for a Canadian student visa, I would like to know -
1. Would I need to submit IELTS scores ?
2. Can I submit TOEFL scores instead of IELTS in order to show proof of English language competency ?I have very high TOEFL scores (119/120 on the ibt), and would like to know whether this would be sufficient.
I look forward to feedback on the above. Thanks !

thanks mugen..
but i'll be applying only next year.. and i've not decided about canada.. i still want to apply to some US schools as well..
I only hope that not having an IELTS score, does not become the reason for rejecting the study permit..

Well SAT is not compulsary in USA though. It's just for scholarship. I got 1550 only and 1120 in composite.
@ MGINDIA.... I too sent my TOEFL scores and got accepted in one of the college

okay a couple of things..
I think we're confusing issues..
I've ALREADY been accpeted by the unversity. The issue is not whether a university (either US or Canadian) will admit me based on TOEFL/ IELTS scores..
The issue is whether TOEFL scores can be submitted in lieu of IELTS scores, in order to obtain a study permit. This pertains to the Canadian High Commission in India, and NOT the university.
@ Mugen - can u confirm that your friends only submitted TOEFL scores to the Canadian High commission in India, and not IELTS scores ? In case it was only TOEFL scores, which they submitted to the Canadian High commission, did they additionally submit GMAT/ GRE/ SAT scores also ?
