Guys;

Buffalo is still sending medicals to Sep 2008 applicants. In New Delhi July 2009 applicants are getting medicals.

1) Can I request Buffalo to send my case to New Delhi, my home country consulate, while I keep on staying in US??
2) How much time this transfer process consumes and would it help?

Looking at current time line, I wont see anything from Buffalo until June 2010 cause I applied in June 2009?

Any exp. from seniors.....

You can do that. However, Buffalo does not have to transfer your file and they might not do so. If they do, it might take a little while. It might not be worth waiting. I was in the same boat. Sao Paulo is sending medical request one month after receiving the documents. So, I decided to withdraw my case from Buffalo. I took a chance because I requested Buffalo to transfer my application and they never contacted me regarding it. So, try to consider the time it might take for them to transfer if they do and the time for you to get your medicals from Buffalo. Buffalo has a huge pile of application and if your application in in line to be process and you ask for transfer, it goes back to the end of line where transfers are being requested.

Good luck!!!

If you don't find it to be too much work, you can send a cancel request go Buffalo and immeadiately re-apply in India. For the timeline you have given you will be done in India before anyone ever touching your file in Buffalo.

mjsantos, can you tell us how long after your initial request did BUffalo transfer your file to Sao Paulo?
I am considering doing that for New Delhi and your feed back would help a lot.
Thanks

me2land,

The main question here is, can you apply right away without getting a notification that the application was withdrawn of do you need to wait?

Honolulu,

Buffalo never transfered my file. I requested them to do so but they were taking too long to even make a decision on it. So, I decided to withdraw and re-apply. Now, I am waiting for their response to re-apply.

Cheers.

Just my personal opinion :

Instead of waiting for unknown period of time to get response from Buffalo, and to save your time, apply again to the CIO with a cover letter explaining your situation exactly with all of the details about your case.

At least the CIO will respond either by returning your entire package back to you with explaination letter instructs you for the right procedure that you will have to do, or they might accept your application and make some internal communications with Buffalo regarding to withdrawl of your previous application.

This way, you will not be doing anything wrong that affects your application negatively because you will be honest by giving all of the related details, and am sure that they will be very cooperative with you (especially that you have serious reasons to transfer or withdraw your application).

Good luck.

I just send my application package to CIC with visa office as Buffalo. After going through this forum, I wish I would have mentioned New Delhi. My application has not reached CIC yet, it is still in mail. Is there anything I do to change?

Is it worth the hassle, especially since I am in US and will have to coordinate things with Indian consulate.

Why dont everbody here just email Jason Kenney to fast track things in Buffalo too lie he did in New Delhi by allocating more resources...# of applications in Buffalo are high so allocate even more resources to keep it proportionate with New Delhi or Islamabad, etc...

i just did that..it may or may not help but it just took 2 minutes..there might be no good but there is no harm too...

No need to wait as long as you make sure your withrawal request is delivered.
Withdrawal can never be denied.

Has anyone processed application from India while staying in US? Is this something workable? I am concerned about medicals, interviews and mailing passport to India, while I am in US. Please advice.
