of course it depends on which country as it was mentioned above... but i wouldn't take the risk. just wait the 12 weeks and send everything together.

otherwise you may risk having your entire application sent back and that's not worth it!

Agreed, as CPC Miss will look for this document before they forward the file back home..i waited for 3 weeks..and i know in some countries it can take much longer.
If they return it, you might run out of time on your PCC and have redo everything again.

Did you get married in Ontario by any chance? If so, then it shouldn't take 12 weeks.

I received some good advice on this board and applied for my certificate right after I got married. We had the certificate in about two and a half weeks (or maybe three?).

Yes, we got married on 26th Feb 2011 in toronto, and we mailed the marriage registation on 28th Feb 2011. I called the office of the registrar general today, and a guy told me that they haven't received my marriage registation yet. Also he said it takes 12 weeks or more after they receive my marriage registation, then they'll do the marriage certificate for me.

I have to mail my sponsorship application to Case Processing Centre at Vegreville AB. Now i can't wait for that long, i have to submit my sponsorship application in one month before my police certificate expired which will expired on 28th April.

I applied for my marriage certificate online and got it back very quickly. Maybe you can still do that and get it back quicker.

I'm a applicant, my husband is a canadian citizen. He's my sponsor. we are applying inland as i'm here living with my husband in toronto.

The reason i want to sunmit the application now because my police certificate which i did it in my own country will expired next month.
Also i searched some internet, someone said we can submit the application first, and will send the marriage certificate later. Also i came to canada as visitor visa, and my visitor visa has expired already. But i have read the embassy website which says i can apply for restoration in 90 days after my visitor visa has expired. So we are going to apply both for PR application and Applicatioon to change conditions, extend my stay or remain in canada.

If there is a way i can request the marriage certificate faster, will do it. So is there anyone know how? Pls tell me, thanks.

Hi,

We had the same dilemana.  My husband's Japanese police records were gonna expire so we wanted to send the inland app right away.  We sent the entire package with a letter advising the marriage certificate would be mailed out as soon as received and why.  When it came we attached the marriage certificate and quoted our receipt number and our personal information and sent it out to Vegreville.  It was not a problem for us.  Hope this helps!

We got married in BC and the certificate came in about 3 weeks, if I remember correctly.  We didn't try to rush it, rather just sent in the letter with our application to adivse it would be forthcoming.  We called the CIC call center and that is what they advised us to do and it worked out with no problems for us.  Just make sure to reference your receipt number and all your personal info so they can match up the marriage license with your file when you send it later.

Hi everyone

I need help with my application. As it takes 12 weeks to obtain the marriage certificate, so can i submit the application first, then will send the marriage certificate later once i get it?

I faced the same problem when I sent in my inland app. I had to wait three months before I could get the certificate we got married here in ontario. I sent my app without it and after I got the certificate I sent it right away and the package wasnt returned.

It wouldnt hurt to attach a note saying why its not included in the app and when can you include it.

Hope this helps
