Would it be a reasonably good idea to request to Buffalo to send the PR application to a satellite office? I think the only one on the west coast is LA, or does Seattle do them as well? Would it slow the process down, speed it up?

If it's a good idea, how do I go about requesting it, and in what part of the application do I attach the request?

Hi

You can ask, they won't do it though.

we're probably will do that too after a few months if our VO won't do it in time. you can also try to contact your MP first - who knows maybe they can help you to transfer the case to another VO or do smth about it, if you convince them your case is stuck in the current one.

not sure if this will work or be of any help, but definitely thinking about it.

somebody told me that you can even sue VO if they process the spousal sponsorship case for over a year, but I'm not sure if this is the case - can anyone, please, advise if it's possible to win the case and get them process it faster?

Getting transferred to a Satellite VO will not always help.
4 people from our december group got transferred mid Aprilto NYC, LA, Detroit and as far as i know nobody even know if the file has been opened since.
When your file gets transferred you get a 90 day period during which you are asked not to request any info on your file... !

In my case NYC would not answer to any email and i do not even know if they got the File. Looks like at least in Buffalo they tell you that you are indeed IN PROCESS if you ask often enough...

Thanks guys. I'll leave it alone and just hope for a reasonably speedy process of our less than normal application.

If your case is "less than normal", chances are it will be transferred - but that doesn't mean it will be processed faster.  Cases that are complicated, or that require interviews, almost always take longer than ones that are straight-forward.

You can't request a certain VO, or a particular US satellite office.  They transfer to the one that is closest to the US residential address you provide on the application.  There are offices in Seattle, Los Angeles, Detroit and NYC.  You can request a particular office in the case of an interview - for example, maybe someone from California is staying with a partner in Ontario and would rather attend an interview in Detroit than in Los Angeles.  They will honour those requests - there is a form in the Region Specific guides that allows you to choose your preference for an interview location.  But if there are complications (other than a request for an interview) with your application, or if they transfer simply to expedite processing because Buffalo gets too backlogged, the ap will usually go to the office closest to your US address, not to the location you requested in case of an interview.
