Hi guys. Just a quick question: I have to submit my medicals by April 20th. I know my visa will expire exactly one year from the medicals. What happens if I need to stretch this thing a little? I will do my medicals on March 26th. That means when I get my visa it will expire on March 26th, 2011. What happens if I cannot land in March 26th 2011? What if I want to postpone my landing? I might want to land on June 2011? What can I do?

Cheers.

You will have to apply again if you did not use your visa before it expired.

Well 1 year is a long long time to make the landing. But, remember it is not always 1 year that you get. Some get lesser time too. A better way to save your visa is make the initial landing there and return back.

Dear friend,

The landing paper clearly mentions that, "your visa has been given the maximum validity - It cannot be extended" If you do not use it before it expires, you must re-apply for immigration.  As blueboy suggested, it is better to land there and then come back to settle everything..

Do your medicals at the earliest and submit all the docs immediately and pray for early processing. Issuance of visa is at their hand, landing decison will be yours, for which you are free to do at any time. Don't waste your time.
