Hello  Wink,

I came to work in Montreal from Europe and obtained my 3 years temporary Work Permit at the Airport Trudeau back in 2008.  As my work permit expired march 2011 my current employer helped me to extend the WP for another 3 years given that I'm not expcting to have my Permanent Residence by the end of 2011, already passed medical examinations.

Not being very happy with my current job I started looking and another company (future new employer) is helping me to obtain another  Work Permit linked to them.

The process is LMO / CAQ / WORK PERMIT.HR of my future new employer said that the work permit will be issued by Vegreville, and that it will take another 6 to 9 weeks. I asked them if I can just go to the border with LMO CAQ and Employer letter to obtain my work permit so I don't have to wait 9 week to change my job. Mentioned to them that I did it that way back in 2008 when I came from Europe brought up to Monteal by my current employer. The future new employer said that we can try.

Here is my question:
Can I obtain a Work Permit New Employer at the border, skipping in this way the delais in Vegreville? and if yes, can that be done at any custom for instance at the border in the way to Burlington Vermont?

Thank you very much this is a great website.
