Until after you're married it would be really time-consuming and difficult for you to come to Canada to stay, or especially to work. The Skilled Worker program can take from 2-3 years, so there's really no point in using that option if you are marrying a Canadian, and getting a market opinion and all the paperwork done for a temporary work visa is pointless when, once you're married you're eligible to be sponsored for permanent resident status by your new spouse, and as soon as that is granted, you can go to work.
After the marriage, the two of you file a
PR application together that will go first to the Case Processing Center in Mississauga, ON, where they assess the eligibility of the sponsor. Once that's approved (about 45 days) the application is transferred to the "overseas" visa office in Buffalo, NY where your part of the application is processed. Buffalo is currently finalizing spouse/common-law partner applications in 3-9 months. You can come to stay with your new spouse, in Canada, until processing is finalized, but you won't be able to work until your PR visa is granted.
