can i extend my open work permit?

hi, i am holding open work permit, i came to canada in March. my job is logistics coordinator. my wife sponsored me to apply immigration. we dropped our application in buffalo. before my visa expire, can i extend my open work permit?if i can't extend, what kind of visa can i apply?

1.  How did you obtain the open work permit?  We have to know that before any advise.

The WHP for New Zealand is NOT extendable.  New Zealand citizens can only get 1 IEC (WHP) so for you to remain, you will have to obtain a work permit via the employer and LMO.
