I have been notified my PR visa will be issued.  I am not ready to land yet however, I will still need to travel to Canada in business and to prepare for our move (house hunting etc).  Can I enter Canada with a PR in my passport without landing?

One other reason to why I am not ready to land yet is my sponsor (wife) has not relocated to Canada.  It is my understanding that my wife must either live in Canada upon my landing, or at least accompany me when landing.  Maybe I have got that wrong?

Many Thanks,

HI GK,

I don't think your wife must accompany you while landing as I was traveling back to Canada last month with a person who was sponsored by his wife and she was just waiting at arrival area for him. It is still better to make sure of it though.

The visa has expiration date and you must land within that date. When you land in, the Immigration Officer will cancel your visa and have you sign the ROPR and will give you a copy as a proof that you are a land in immigrant while waiting for your PR Card.
