Hi,
I have the following question regarding Medicals. I will appreciate if you could provide some guidance.

My friend has received my MR and has sent to me in India as currently I am out of US on vacation for a month.

My queries are:
1) Can I get medical done through DMP in India?

2) Can I call DMP and schedule an earliest available appointment without having MR forms received from VO in hand?

3) I have seen in the forum that some people went for MR in advance. Will DMP use their own forms for Medical Checkup?

4) How many days do we get to complete Medicals?

The thing is I want to get Medicals done sooner and not have to wait for MR Forms forwarded by my friend to my India address because I will probably not receive it until mid next week (postal service in India are slow). If possible, would like to get it done this weekend depending on appointment availability with DMP.

Thank You So Much!!!!

Hi DestCan

See the answers as below

Hi,

My friend has received my MR and has sent to me in India as currently I am out of US on vacation for a month.

1) Can I get medical done through DMP in India?

Yes, you can get medical done in India

2) Can I call DMP and schedule an earliest available appointment without having MR forms received from VO in hand?

I personally do not recommend going for medicals without ORIGINAL MEDICAL forms VO. I did my medicals here in INDIA DMP did verify the Medical Forms ,VO seal on the each applicant photo.

3) I have seen in the forum that some people went for MR in advance. Will DMP use their own forms for Medical Checkup?

Yes , I know some people did their medicals in advance in that case DMP has those forms.
PS: Please make sure that your DMP sends your medical reports to OTTAWA only.

4) How many days do we get to complete Medicals?

1 day is enough to complete the medicals.

The thing is I want to get Medicals done sooner and not have to wait for MR Forms forwarded by my friend to my India address because I will probably not receive it until mid next week (postal service in India are slow). If possible, would like to get it done this weekend depending on appointment availability with DMP.

Murthy,
Thanks.

Doesn't DMP send Medicals directly to Ottawa by default?
Also, I wanted to know how many days does VO allow for Medicals to be sent to Ottawa? Is it 45 days or 60 days?

Thanks,
Amrit

They sent to Ottawa by default but some DMP by mistake sent to VO instead of Ottawa (just make sure with DMP for satisfaction).

No longer the case.  The DMPs have been instructed to send the medical results to their usual Immigration Regional Medical Centre, in India's case New Delhi.

1. Yes. And anywhere in the world thru a DMP.
2. Yes, if the appt queue is long [I had a month's wait in Dubai]. Else, NO.
3. Yes, most would. But in your case DON'T... u've the forms already issued why not use them & avoid complications, if any.
4. The meds letter notifies that. Usually 60 days... some got 90 as well... similarly few got 45.

PMM is correct. Our meds go to the RMO [of the DMPs city/country] whatever/wherever our VO is. In any case it makes no difference to our processing, 'coz the report/s r available @ CIC-online.

And yes, Congrats !

Cannot be sanguinely opined. However, the PPR arrives usually by 2-4 months from the meds submission. And a few weeks before that the DM would be reflected on the e-Cas.

Yes, u'd receive a PPR after the meds... usually in hard copy. However, quite a few receive electronically as well... usually if they had a continued emailing relationship with their VO.

One follow up question from your response to where DMP sends reports to.

My VO is New York but my DMP is in India. So, just to make sure I understood it right, DMP will send to RMO (that is, New Delhi) and New Delhi will send it to Ottawa?

I hope this does not delay the med report receipt at Ottawa.

I have scheduled an appointment with DMP in India and the earliest available date was 26th Dec. Took that.
Thanks so much !

New Delhi being the RMC will review and upload medical reports in GCMS/CAIPS which will be available on-line to your concerned VO.

Many Thanks Qorax and PMM.

1. TB is not a medical inadmissibility issue. Even if u have an active one - u'd be let thru after it's treatment, with a "Medical Surveillance" note. If a scar is noticed in the Xray - u'd have a 'medical furtherance' - the 'sputum test', which could take an addnl 4 months of your time.

2. Purely your call buddy. -take the hint
