Can I change my status from tourist to temporary worker?
«

Hello everybody,
I am currently studying in Quebec for four months, and my visa expires middle of may, I am from Brazil and would like to know, because I may have a job opportunity, if could I switch my visa to a temporary work permit?
Or, if not, can I get an extension of the tourism one, to stay the summer in here?
Thank you very much

No, you'd have to apply for a work permit separately.
You can apply for an extension of your TRV, but keep in mind that you can't legally work.

Thank you for the answer,
Than I can do it from here not needing to go back to Brazil? How long does it usually take?
I won't be or work illegally here, if I can't be longer, I just go back home.

You can apply for an extension of your visitor status to Vegreville. See:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visitor.asp
the processing time is presently 69 days. I assume that since your course in only 4 months that you don't have a study permit.
