That depends only on the decision of the immigration officers and on whether he will convince them that he wont be up to anything illegal during his stay. He shouldnt let them know that he`s going to marry you because they would probably suspect he would want to stay in canada illegally. its all about convincing them he wants to go only as a tourist and that he`s planning to leave on the day written on his flight ticket.

lonelycanadianwifey-

Isn't your application to sponsor already submitted to the Kingston office?

First, I don't think they will approve a visitor's visa to a young guy from Jamaica with no special reason to come to Canada except to visit friends.  I am only saying this from what I have seen in the past.

Second, if your application is in, and your man is here in Canada when the Jamaica High Commission tries to contact him, and they can't reach him, they might stop processing the application.

Anyway, the main thing is that he probably wouldn't be granted a visa.

First off, chances are slim that he would even be granted the Visa.

I would strongly suggest not applying for a Visitor's Visa (especially since you've already applied to sponsor him). You could possibly jepordize your current sponsorship app. They cross reference people that apply for TRVs to see if they have any applications outstanding (such as sponsorship, FSW, etc.). As AMB also mentioned, if he were unavailable when the processing Visa office tries to contact him he could get himself in hot water.

My advice, just wait it out and visit him in the meantime.
