At last, I mailed my Ontario nomination application today. Appxly 90 more days of waiting until I have my nomination in hand. I have one question for the knowledgeable/experienced ones:

I do not have the required 2 years of validity on my passport. Opportunities Ontario mentioned they need at least 2 years on the passport. Now, problem is the consulates of my country (India) do not renew passports if it is not within one year of expiry. Anyhow, I submitted my PNP application today, and I will be renewing my passport in couple of weeks. Once I have my renewed passport I can send Opportunities Ontario the copies. Well now the question is: Do I get a file number or a reference number (or some unique Identity number) upon the receipt of my PNP application package by Opportunities Ontario? If I have a file number, I could submit documents in future if need be. Any thoughts? thanks, frontenacs

I have not received any sort of acknowledgement from Opportunities Ontario yet on my nomination application. I applied on April/12. Does it take this long to receive an acknowledgement? Thanks, frontenacs

Hello All,

I received a letter from Opportunities Ontario with a file number to my PNP application. I would just like to throw this info to the forum. While submitting your PNP application make sure that you include photocopies of ALL the pages on your passport, including blank pages. I didn't do it first time, so I am given 30 days to submit the photocopies.

Question/Concern: This moment my passport is at the Indian Consulate, NY for a renewal. It's been three weeks since I applied to renew my passport. If I don't get back my passport on time, can I request Opportunities Ontario to extend the deadline? Is it possible? The letter reads like I must submit in 30 days otherwise my PNP application will be cancelled.

thanks,
