Hi,
I came to Canada recently i.e. DEC 2011 on ICT(Inter Company Transfer) visa, I am few questions regarding applying for PR as below

1) Can I apply for my PR now or do I have to wait for certain period before I apply
2) If I have to wait then how long is the waiting period, before I apply for my PR
3) As I am on ICT visa , and my wife is on visitor visa, can she work here. If yes then what is the process for that.

Regards,
VA

I guess it depends on what program you want to go with. You have to look at the Federal and Provincial programs and decide if you qualify for any one. For the provincial, start with the province where you are currently resident.

I am supposing if you can get an ICT permit, you must be considered skilled so you probably qualify to apply for PR under PNP if your employer is willing to sponsor you.  If your employer is not willing to sponsor you, you can wait until you have 2 years full time work and then apply yourself under Canadian experience class.  Skilled worker is also an option but the employer has to play along there too.

To get a work permit for your spouse, you just apply for one.  If you are skilled, she would be entitled to an open work permit based on your work permit.  She just has to apply to change her status, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visitor.asp  She should include a copy of your marriage certificate and your work permit and of course everything else they ask for.
