Can i apply for canadian visa even though my b1 us visa was already expired?

Is there a possibility that i can apply for a canadian visa? I'm thinking on apllying there in canada as i can't do anything in here coz i overstayed my visa so im out of status right now..My employer broght me here from other coutry coz company sent her here to work so she'e under working visa too and her son is with her so she needs me to take care of her son as she always traveling>But my problem now is that im out of status and i can't do anything so im plnning to apply for canada.She told me that i just go home phil. once she will finish her contract in here nxt yr.Any one can give me advice whats best for me to do with out going to phil.?Thanks for advice that your going to give me..
