We are making steady progress...my wife's application is in the Buffalo pipeline.  She is planning to be with me in Canada until the end of November (she entered in early August with a return ticket to the U.S...no problems at border)...my question is this:  if, in the happy event that we receive a request for her passport and send it to Buffalo from Canada....will Buffalo return her passport to a Canadian address or does it have to be returned to an address in the U.S.?

Buffalo returned my passport to my Canadian address.  I  was able to include a National Expresspost envelope when I sent in my passport and I used that.  I put my tracking number in right away and got an email from Canada Post when they mailed it, so I knew it was on its way.

Yes they can return to a Canadian address. When you get your passport request they will include some forms that give you directions on having your passport returned.

Thanks for the info, folks...do you know if having the passport sent to a P.O. box in Canada presents any problems?

I don't think they will send anything to P.O. especially passports

If your address is a PO box and they are sending it regular mail, they will send it to a PO box.  Only courier's won't deliver to PO boxes.  CIC is not going to make a distinction.  You choose where you want it sent to.
