If quad band phones work in Canada (though I am have no knowledge of this and just following previous post), then I don't see any problem as Nokia 2730 is a quad band phone and supports the following bands:
Operating frequency
Europe: UMTS (WCDMA) 900/2100 and Quad Band GSM 850/900/1800/1900
North America: UMTS (WCDMA) 850/1900 and Quad Band GSM 850/900/1800/1900
