Hi everyone;

I'm new to the site but I've been browsing it and found it to be very useful... thanks for everyone's input of course. I have few questions about the interview because what happened with our case is that my husband has been scheduled for an interview but unfortunately he missed it and they said they would reschedule it. Does anyone know how long it will take to reschedule a new appointment? Does the officer speak Arabic/English? Do they keep the originals of everything u hand to them for proof of ongoing relationship?

nt sure how long they take to reschedule new interview but u should keep watching ur e mail and phone

the interview ,, mine was in arabic and no they dont keep any extra original documents they request it the officer will just review it ,,,

hi everybody...i have urgent question i wish anyone help me ...i sent my file 5-Septemper 2011 and i didn't hear anything since then ,does anyone know how long it takes as they're writing that they are working on applications recieved on 18 Septemper now(66 days) anyone explain please ..is it mean they will began in my application and will take 66 days or what gonna happen i feel confusing!!

Thanks Fox82 and Bondar for your replies:) ... the timeline for our application is as follows:

Nov 7, 2010 we got a letter from the CIC office in Missisauga

Feb 28, 2011 our application arrived Egypt

Oct 13, 2011 our online status showed decision made and we started panicking because neither one of use nor my lawyer has been contacted about the decision. This however was found to be an error for two reasons:

1) My name which used to show up or is supposed to show up in the schedule has suddenly disappeard and I only see my husband's name
2) On Nov 18, 2011 we found that the site has an interview for my husband has been scheduled for Nov 15,2011:( I called my lawyer to see how come we never ever got a message or anything to inform us about the interview but he also has no clue. The embassy replied to my husband when he emailed them and said that they have sent my lawyer an email on Nov 2, 2011 and asked him to get the following:

- Passport
- 4 photos
- original marriage certificate anything to confirm our relationship is still going and strong

So now, we asked them to reschedule my husband for another interview and hoping to get him in soon but no reply as of yet. Hopefully they make it some time soon .. we're sooo nervous now that they reschedule and we don't get any message or call from them. Please wish us good luck and I hope we alll unite back with our loved ones sometime soon as I know how difficult that is on both partners.

I too panic the first time I looked on the site and my date had passed and I didnt hear anything, I called the call center and they said that it had been approved and gave me my file number. However I did not get a letter in the mail for about 2-3 weeks. Then dont be worry once you get the letter and sign in to the site they provide you with because that too took awhile for them to update.  Try to call the hotline I find that the best time to call was around 4pm I always go through with a wait time of 10 minutes. and now they are working on applications received on 16 septemper...


my question is my date is what they are mentioned that they are working on or after that with 66 day?

sorry, they are working on sept 16 and the 66 means how many days they are delayed from the date they made the update to sept 16th confusing   i hope that helps you now. did you send your application registered and if so what day did they receive it?

yes my husband sent it in 5 September and he dosn't know when did they receive it ?


and shouls i call the hotline or wait 66 days?

I was wondering did they request from you a second medical test .. They usually request a second one if your first one expires... 
Did that happen to you...

I hope everything goes well for you.. and dont worry .. you should count yourself lucky.. cuz you are in the last stages of the process..

Yes, I think he should call them by now because either way the mail strike was not on when he sent them so it doesnt take long for them to receive it. Our mailing system is normally very good.

I dont think you should wait the 66 days  because they r working past your date now. Good luck

he sent the file and paid the fees and he didn't receive any tracking number only he has the receipt..he is in montreal....um so worry now that he didn't receive this tracking number

No, dont worry if he sent it regular mail he would not have got a tracking number. Have him call the call centre and enquire. But dont

Amattullah..thank you for your wishes, hope same goes for all of us and we all unite back soon but no they didn't request a new medical exam because what happened was that the whole file was sent originally in Oct 2010 but they returned it and asked for medical exam to be done and my husband did it and he sent it to me then my lawyer sent the file back to CIC missisauga and they sent a letter in Nov that all required documents are ready and they are going to transfer our file to Egypt. So, I believe when they reschedule him for an interview, he might be asked to redo his medical exam because it would be expired then for sure.
