Hi Everyone !

So I talked with my husband this morning and he also received an acknowledgement letter for the OttPilot-Immigration group.

I printed it and reading it as I'm writting this message.

What I see is that:

- He has a new application number

- His application will be process in Ottawa but they might need Cairo Visa Office to permorm tasks (like the interview).

- That the normal processing time for a family class application is 12 months from the initial submission of the application at CPC, which our was July 22nd 2010.
So I wonder if this new pilot project really speed the application wait.

I also wonder why our CIC status is changed to "in process" but not everyone saw this change in their profile.

So much unanswered question! I'll ask around to see if I cannot get more info on this

Hi,All!
I have more news Smiley
Exactly like Mels's husband ,my husband received acknowledgement letter with new file number .
Also we have to let them know about our newborn baby girl.

So if processing time is 12 months ,we have already almost 9 months ,in CPC they received our application on 2 of december 2010.

Hope this project is a good thing for all of us,Inshallah:)

Hi,Mels!
How does it feel to have some news ?!What an amazing feeling Smiley

I have some thoughts regarding why the status of ur application has changed to 'IN PROCESS'.
In my opinion ,you are waiting since july 2010 and it is more than 12 months. Our application was received on 2 of december ,maybe that;s why we are not 'IN PROCESS'just yet.

Lapula !!

I know and I'm loving the feeling of it too!!! We can almost see the end of this long wait!

It feels great to answer a different story to everyone who always ask the same question over and over again : So.. have you heard anything about the immigration application?

You might be right about the waiting period and that comes with a surprise because I always took the date that my application was fully received which was Jan 21st Smiley

One thing is for sure, I will keep you guys posted Smiley

What I can understand is that this is a pilot project to reduce the family sponsorship backlog.

Here is what I found in an immigration blog on the web:

From May until September 2011, all successful family class appeals will be forwarded to CPP-O.  CPP-O will create a file, conduct security checks, and forward the file to the respective visa office for processing. (IE. Interviews/Giving Visas)

Starting in September, CPP-O will conduct security checks, and then triage the files into relatively low admissibility risk files and complex ones.  For relatively low risk files, CPP-O will process the entire file, and print the Confirmation of Permanent Residence.  Files that are identified as having complex admissibility issues will still be forwarded abroad.

Hopefully this will help current and futur applications Smiley

I've read this too but what I dont understand is why our files are going to Ottawa without a decision.  Ottawa was originally supposed to process the expedition of successful appeals.  I wonder if they've modified the pilot from appeals to all simple cases to get them moving faster.  I did some searching last night and I could find nothing to indicate this but seems more reasonable now that I see others files are going to Ottawa as well.  If it means a faster answer, I'm okay with that.
