I'm sorry to hear that your so frustrated, however I dont think it has anything to do with your age gap. I am 10 years older than my husband and he was approved. It makes me sad that you feel this way about Canada and you are not even here yet. Maybe it is best if you stay there, because this is the process and although it is long and hard we have it to protect everyone. I hope that you can change the way you feel about Canada since you will be calling it home soon inshallah. I wish you all the best, inshallah you will get some good news soon.

Try to be patient and believe me it's so so hard, i heard theese words from my hubby many times but after one year 13 days he is sitting beside me. yell scream whatever you have to do but in the end it's worth it because you are with the one you love not because of the country Our country IS wonderful but the immigration process is awful they are trying to remedy the system slowly so the cheaters and scammers don't cause us headaches.

First I am a Canadian citizen. Canada is not the best place in the world. Months ago we had elections and unfortunately Stephen Harper government stayed! Have we even seen any changes during or after elections None noda what so ever! Canada has the best economy but does this translate to a better life? Look at the American elections, look at the quality of life, look at the changes that has been done, even the gas prices,... Do you know that gas prices in US is less than in Canada? However, Canada has the largest oil reserves in the world 2nd to Saudia Arabia as far as I know. We export to US for ?sake The simplist things, I used to get a dollar menu meal in US and when I say a dollar it does mean a dollar. The same meal you will never get it in Canada. (to be more specific in Western and Prairie provinces). I used to get $.99 US dollar for a meal same meal was in Canada for $1.35+taxes=$1.xx>1.35 (Canadian dollar at the time when the CAD$1=US$1). They even changed the book prices after Canadians complained but that's because books are of intellectual value. Do you know why we had the election? "Prime Minister Stephen Harper advised the Governor General to dissolve parliament after the House of Commons passed a motion of non-confidence against the government, finding it to be in contempt of parliament. A few days before, the three opposition parties had rejected the government's proposed budget" In any case, it is up to you to decide but if you decide to immigrate to Canada, you have to accept the good and bad. You have to realize each has his/her own experience.

There are many things that left as they are for reasons, there are no perfect systems. Jack Layton questioned Stephen Harper in 2008 elections about these things: - The Canadian economy is the best but why we have highly qualified skilled (on high demand jobs) without jobs! Why we accept them under skilled immigrants without giving them the means and tools to fit into society. We need them but because of the many things they had to work as taxi drivers...etc. -The immigration process and family reunion What a reunion??? -... Do you know what Stephen responses? -The Canadian economy is evolving and we created jobs and training programs ...those underemployed or without a job can get training and re-enter the market! Are you kiddin me? A highly educated university graduate that the immigration and we all can see a need for them will get these craft's man training to re-enter the market. I have seen it personally because I taught at least 5 engineering degree holders from different countries. I have also noticed Canadians won't hire someone without networking=a nice way of putting it -The response to immigration process... we are doing our best!

To MayBeNot If you have choices which I had at many times, do not take the decisions while you are in this state. Think objectively about the whole system and country. Do not think emotionally toward countries or systems. Once you take the decision take full responsiblity for it and follow through. For example what I do not like about Canada (I am saying about NOT aboot ) mainly is the socialist part. You pay more taxes if you make more money. However, very high income can get away with it. If you are a low income or do not have a job you live on my tax money. You pay more and you get the health system. For me I would have never liked to immigrate to UK or Europe but that is me. I had a swedish colleague and she preferred to live her young age in US but when she gets older she would prefer to live in Sweden (more socialist thus better health care and higher taxes). In any case, I can not live in Egypt. I am so got used to the system in North America.

Hello,
Does anyone know after re-doing a medical exam, when does the issued permanent resident visa expire? Does it expire one year from the date of the new medical exam, even if they issue it after only a few months or is there a maximum time it can be valid for? Anyone had experience with that? What was your timeline like?
Thanks!

i was going to be like this guy --------> and not say nothing about all this talk about how some ppl hates Canada, such a strong word hate....but I have to speak my mind about this topic. Ok, so I'm one of these people sitting here waiting patiently for my husband from Egypt to come to me in Canada . There are days where I felt I wanted to find this immigration building and say to them...Ummm HELLLOOOO what is taking you people so long to bring my husband to me NOW, RIGHT NOW . But I also have to keep in mind that Canada is doing what most countries do to protect their Country. I know it really sucks, but thank the people who have been marrying just for papers and abused this system and lied to get into this country, and end up causing criminal cases here . If you were the president of your own country, I seriously think you would probably do the same, I mean you wouldn't let a complete stranger into your home with your family and trust him 100%, even though he/she may be the most innocent person in this whole world. Patience is what I've totally learned about this process, and I may honestly lose my patience if I don't hear something soon.....lol.....but then I gotta be patient again Everything is happing at its right time, for me I believe by Allah's time. Allah bless us all, and may we all hear something so soon, not just from our Egypt to Canada, but to all the other married people around this whole world that are in our same situation, just wanting to be with their husband or wife, because no family should be away from each other. InshaAllah so soon, INSHA ALLAH!!

Hey guys; I just wanted to let you know that my husband has just received a phone call from the embassy asking him to send in his passport for the visa stamp We are very thankful to God for this and you guys as well as you've been found to be extremely helpful throughout our wait for the good news. Wish all of you ALLLLL the best with your lives and hope you have a very happy time together. May God also ease the wait on you all, particularly those who are still waiting, and give you the patience to resist the wait as I know how that felt. Many thanks to each and everyone of you and once again, I wish you all the best!
