Cairo Office Processing time

Guys,

Please share with me your experience with cairo visa office, they recieved my package August 1st and from the AOR they mentioned at least 24 months to proccess, which was a shock to me, as it is completely different for what mentioned in CIC website.

, if anyone just recieve the AOR soon please share with us, to know if they write the same 24 months period for all as a default.

, also if some one complete his process in less than 24 months, just want to know if it's an estimated time or real time.

, And if anyone knew others visa offices proceed in less timeframe, from my side i know a friend dealt with london visa office and he got his visa stamped on his passport within 13 months, and he is skilled workers as well , so What is the difference !!!!!!!

Hi ,

The processing time for skilled in Cairo is 6 months last year. My be they just write that in the paper. Some people in egypt finished their application within 11 months for Quabac selection. i think the federal skilled finishes faster.

i just recieved the AOr from cairo visa office and it was mentioned that the processing time is 24 months , which i think they put it as buffer
anyway i hope everything goo smoother
i just need to know the eligibility they are doing in the visa office , is it applicable that after CIC they can reject us ?

Hi,

I believe it's a case-by-case treatment. The 24 month period mentioned is the max. period in which u expect ur application to be finalized.

However, for some reasons, applicants to CVO may have their application processed in around 24 months or even more; while some others get the visa in as fast as 9 months.

So, stick to it & hope for good.

you are from july 2009 , and no one called or asked for any extra papers since then ?
because i know that in the letter they write if more than 6 months passed and no one contacted you , you have to contact visa office

Bad news, the updated processing time is 31 months, i sent them email and they replied that due to the work load it has been extended from 24 to 31 months

Welcome to the Club, Cairo Office is the slowest office on the planet. So Patient is the name of the game.
My first application was sent March 2007 still waiting, and my second application in Nov 2009 they sent me the very same letter with 2nd AOR and inform me about 24 month waiting. For more info read this thread.
