Dear All

Today i have got my CAIPS and it says following :

AOR was 13 april 2010

PSDEC 1 13 may 2010 RAS
SELDEC 4 28 dec 2010 PAM

Interview Waived. VO mentioned that good relationship docs on file.  Been living together since marriage. Satisfied relationship is BF. Interview Waived.

Seems all is good. Right?

Can you tell me what does BF means in VO comments above? Also what does RAS & PAM means?

Also they have put that Paper file sent to REF, BFD 29 may 2011

Does this mean that will only open my file on 29th may now?

Also you can see there is a gap of 8 months between PSDESC AND SELDESC. I want to ask that does the background and criminal check starts after selection decision?

Why they have put BFD of 29 may 2011.. Isnt it too far?

In some cases, Background Checks are started after the IO makes the SELDESC on the file. It's not set in stone because some IOs send in for the BC before they make a decision while some wait until after the decision is being made. I guess there is no rule/law put into place when they are doing their checks. In my situation, they have sent in for my background after they approved my application and I am still waiting.

BFDs are usually put forward for a 2-3 months period once the IO knows that s/he is almost at the end of finalizing your application. If I am correct, I think they keep your file in their office or some nearby storage area so they can retrieve any information they need on the BFD.

BF = bona fide
It means the visa officer believes your relationship is genuine.
