Hello everyone...have done a search but been unable to get a clear answer on this.

I hope someone can help.

I had a Canadian student visa for a few years, I finished university in Canada, and graduated.

My common law partner is now going to be sponsoring me to come to Canada, for various reasons ( many of my belongings were damaged and lost in storage)
I do not have ANY of my old paperwork, or my old student visa, which I thought would be good to send along with my application.

Is there a quick way for me to request a copy of my old student visa?
I know people request CAIPS for immigration cases that are CURRENTLY in process, but can you request CAIPS or something similar for past immigration cases?

Thank you for reading my post!

1.  Yes you could request CAIPS and FOSS notes (out of Canada and In-Canada) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/index.asp
2.  For a copy of your study permit see: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/certcopy.asp
3.  My question, would be why bother?  CIC/CHC knows you had a study permit.
