CAIPS notes are free of charge if  the sponsor is Canadian Citizen or PR living in Canada. Am I correct? but which form must be signed by the applicant to give autorization to the sponsor to order them on his behalf.

I'm just filling out the Access to information and personal information request form and I need a little help completing this form:
Do you leave blank the first part (Requeser's reference # and ATIP file#)?
underneath is (Surname, first name & date of birth) I guess they are referring to the applicant?Huh
underneath since I live in Canada I'll check the option I wish to examine the information as is in English. Do I have to check the box underneath  Receive copies of the records or not?
REQUEST FOR
CAIPS (Information abroad), Embassy , Visa file no (I'm assuming it's his AOR#)
The last part is the information about the sponsor in Canada which must be signed by the sponsor.

I think I'm missing another form for my husband to be sign so hecan give me authorization to order CAIPS. Can someone let me know which form is that???
Thank you kindly for all your help

Do you leave blank the first part (Requeser's reference # and ATIP file#)? Yes you leave it blankYes the surname and stuff refers to the applicant
DO NOT receive copies cuz that will give you a copy of your entire file.. everything you sent in and that means they will copy each page for you again.. and I heard they are not happy when they have to do this.. I would only request this if you got a refusal or something and didnt have a copy of the file

1) IMM5575 (Authority to release personal information)
2) IMM5563 (Access to information and personal requests)
3) Fee of $5 payable by cheque to the Receiver General of Canada). Or I think you get it under the Privacy act and dont pay this part I'm not so sure about.
4) copy of Canadian passport
Yes the Visa file # is his Immigration File Number that was given in the AOR.
Hope that helps..

I think they assume most canadian citizens have a canadian passport.. I'm not sure .. I don't see why you couldnt send a copy of your citizenship card as well.. Doesn't have anything to do with whether the sponsor is living abroad or not Smiley
It's bloody hot.. can't breathe.. so humid.. our electric bill is going to be so high this summer!!
Rasha is busy at work.. I think it's busier than normal.. She might come around on her lunch Smiley
When are you sending out the CAIPS? I hope you get something out of it.. Smiley

Marlena, I can't help you much in CAIPS, because my lawyer filled, but I had to sign a Authority to release personal information and a new use of a representive for the lawyer so Ottawa will send him the CAIPS.
But  watch out for something, there is a box on the CAIPS Form where you asked a copy of your file, don't check it, cause by doing this, your file will be stopped so they will be able to copy all your file and send it to you, and they will be very made...we don't need that..Smiley)
You are going to order your CAIPS soon?

No I'm not ordering my CAIPS until the end of July. I'm scanning a copy to my hubby so he can keep it along with the other form when it's signed There is 2 forms to be completed. Thanks to Boncuk for explaining and yes you are right I'm not requesting the entire file but rather CAIPS notes only!!!
How's the weather in Lebanon, I spoke to my husband yesterday and told me it's so hot and the sun is very strong so i guess the uv must be very high probably 10.
Rorita your advise about the interview. If he go through one shall he asks for interpeter because i am afraid if they speak English very fast he will have some difficult time and in a previous post there was a disagreement about asking for one but I had indicated on the application that he wanted to be conducted in Arabic since we both communicate all the time in arabic.... Your opinion!!!

Marlena, the sun is sooo strong and very hot, but the lebanese don't like wearing any protection, they enjoy the sun tan, but think that they won't enjoy skin cancer later, I am the only one between my friend who wear protection for the sun.
I read your post about the translator, and I was thinking about it before I reply to you, and here you are asking my opinion..Smiley
the idea that asking for a translator will raise some issue with the IO by saying you can not comminucate in english, how do you communicate?? it will make an issue. But on the other side, you said that you made it clear in the application that you communicate in arabic and if there is an interview, you would like it in arabic. what make you case diffewrent than Mingus , I guess, is that you speak arabic, she don't so there is no laguage problem with your husband because his english is not good, you speaK arabic with him.
I guess you can try calling them or emailing Damascus and asking about it, to be fair they reply most of the time. If they don;t make an interview in arabic, I guess, your husband should skip the translator and ask the IO politly to speak english slowly so he will be able to follow him, because I read lot of post here where the applicant had problem because of the translator

WEll believe it or not he is studying believing that he might go through an interview and I was in a total shock to see him preparing for it. I had giving him all the information that we had completed together in arabic and now I remember even in the application I had to sign since I completed the form for him and by signing that part that I had translated for him all the information completed on his behalf. Good thing I did that else we both would be in trouble since if he wants to do the interview in arabic they would question it right!!!!

yes you are right, good thing you did that. Concerning the interview, it is good thing that he prepare himself for it, I hope he won't go thru one, but he should be prepared. When I thought I will go into an interview , I prepared for 2 month, I asked my husband question about things that he almost remember about himself...it was funny..Smiley)
