Hi all,

When you request your CAIPS file, does Immigartion Officer find out that you have ordered it or it has no record in your application file?

My Friend someone gave you wrong information. Although it is the fact that the office is different you apply for CAIPS notes, however your V.O will come to know as there are some formal permissions involved.

I applied two times for CAIPS and both the times a formal request was sent and granted. The officer in-charge of your file is fully aware that you are requesting CAIPS.

Ali,

Thank you for the reply.
Are You sure the ATIP office in canada just prints the information off the computer and does not save any record in file that it has been a request for CAPIS?
Can you please let me know a reference on this issue?

I agree with Biblo, 4 months ago in May,I sent my PCC and  emailed them 3 or 4 times to make sure that they got it or at least they still remember my case. But there was no reply from them at all. Then I applied for CAIPS in June. Directly the V.O sent an email to tell us that my file is under review with an immigration officer. So I could say that if ur file has a nap u can refresh it with CAIPS oreder.

This is how it happens. When you order caips notes they are printed from Canada and sent to you. An entry is made in your caips file that you order caips notes on so and so date. If you order caips notes again you will find in the caips notes that there is an entry of your last caips notes. This time again an entry would be made that you have order caips notes.

The visa officer has access to your caips file as what ever he does on your file he has to be record on your caips file. For example Once a visa officer notes on your file that on so and so date he received your documents after the entry he can not amend/delete it. He can only add another entry. I hope you get it.
But not to worry. You have the right to order caips notes and it does not make the vo prejudiced against your file just because you ordered caips.

By law caips have to be printed on or within 30 days of request received. Usually they are printed towards the end day of the expiry period.

Caips is only one good thing about canadian immigration system. As the applicant can redress the concerns of a visa officer if he comes to know what is the vo concerned about.

No.... BFD - is set by VO. In one of the post someone said that his BFD is May 2011, that means his file would be accessed on or before that date.
