Hi all,

I will be visiting Canada for two months and my visa is Business Visitor valid for 6 months. My question is can I apply for work temporarily after my business assignment? What step should I do?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Before you can apply for a work permit, you must first find an employer who is willing to offer you a job. That employer will then have to submit a Labour Market Opinion for approval (as part of this process, they will have to prove they were unable to find a Canadian to hire for the job and for this reason must hire you). If the Labour Market Opinion is approved, you can then apply for a closed work permit. ("Closed" means that you can only work for that employer.)

Thank you for your reply scylla.
This mean that I cannot apply for work permit without an employer?
How or where can I find an employer? Is there any published job openings in this forum?

That's right. You can't apply for a work permit without an employer.

You can search for jobs on online job sites such as monster.ca.

There are no published job openings on this forum.

Hi all,

I arrived here in Canada last 23rd of October and staying here until 16th of December. I'm planning to visit my friend in US to spend Christmas. Can I apply for the US visa here? Is there anyone applied for US visa here in Canada and get approved?

I have read in the immigration website that most visitor were suggested to apply in their country because numerous were being denied.

Thanks in advance.
