Is it me or the processing time for PNP applications has been painfully slow at Buffalo VO for the last ~8 months.
My medicals were received in Aug 2010 and no PPR yet.
Anyone heard of anything as to why things are moving so slow over there?

Hi,

Here are my time lines.

NP completed in Oct2009
Applied to Embassy in Jan 2010
Received MR in Jun 2010
Sent Medicals by end of Jun 2010
Status changed in website as "Medicals request received...." in Dec 2010.

From Dec 2010,i have sent mails to buffalo inquiring about the status of PR request and received same regular format of mail saying that
"My PR request is under review and at time lines cannot be shared".

Thanks,
Siri

 @ siri:
My timeline is fairly similar to yours:
Application sent to Buffalo: Feb 2010
Received MR: June 2010
Medicals Sent: August 2010
E-cas still says "We started processing June 2010 ..."
I emailed Buffalo but it seems like I'm undergoing a background check. No other updates so far.

My timeline is similar to yours Siri, the only difference is my eCase does not show medical received, still in Process state. I inquired them a few times, first one they said "background checks" requested to other government offices, second "In Process" and cannot tell me when it will completed, 3rd same as second, 4th same as 2nd. I am very frustrated because I was told that PNP process is faster and less painfull than the others, which now I realized is not true. Hope we all get PPR soon...

 @ 4mfamily:
I got an email after sending a case specific enquiry saying "We have requested background information from other government offices ..." (two months ago). I just sent another email today asking for an update, will post after I hear from them.

 @ superboy_ec:
Same for me, mine doesn't say medical receieved either. I agree, PNP isn't faster/priortized over other streams at all. Infact, it seems CEC applications at Buffalo are being processed faster.

my timelines are almost similar..pls check that on left side..

my question is same as someone else asked in other post..

Did any of you guys received letter from Buffalo saying that..."no additional docs reqd at this time, med  received etc.."Huh

it seems like the files stuck in Buffalo got these letters..and ppl who got transfered to other VO havent got that letter???
I am not sure, thats what folks are trying to find out..or there might not be any link at all...
but just wanted to post my feedback..
so, folks who got the letter or who got transfered or both pls post your thoughts...

i got the same letter you have, and my file is still in Buffalo..
THe letter just told me that they have done the inital assessment and no additional document and interview are needed. I received it on Nov 21, how about you? after that, there are no news. It seems to me that if the files still in Buffalo may be complicated than others? does it mean our cases are harder than others? everyday I have to check my mail box but no more letter from them.. so worry.

i remmeber somebody in other forum say it is not good to get this letter, because it means we are under background check and take long? i don't know whether it is true or not, as i have no friends working in immigration ..
It has been 6 months after my medical, when I have been seeing the more approval those people got, which they have similar timeline as me, I am so scared!

I haven't received any IA but my file hasn't been transferred either. Similar to you guys, my medicals were sent over 5 months ago.
Not sure what's happening at Buffalo right now ... the waiting game isn't fun.

Im curious about this..so do they do the background checks AFTER the medicals? Coz the first 5 months wait after submitting the initial application was brutal enough already..
