I remember that it seems to take about one months but I am not certain of that. Perhaps you could send email to Visa Office first. If you don't get the satisfying respond from VO then you can ask a CAIPS.

I have got an interview call from NYC visa office: Please bring the following with you at your interview:
Original police certificates from the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations - USA) are required for . FBI instructions can be accessed at www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/united-states.asp. As the FBI may take more than 60 days to issue police certificates, these may be sent separately at a later date.
Evidence of your solvency (proof of funds) such as a detailed letter from your bank or accountant showing all your assets and liabilities or bank statements.
Evidence of your experience from your previous and/or current employers- letters from your employer describing your position and responsibilitiesyour Tax Returns for the last 4 years Q1:Do I need updated letters/statements for proof of funds(I have to get those from my home country too!!) Q2:I had mailed them the original work-experience certificate with the original application,will they accept the photo-copies of the same as its very difficult to contact old employers now??? Please help Thanks |

Congrats! great news.
I submitted my application to CIO in Nov 2010. I did not submit police certificate from FBI at that time. I have not been asked to submit police certificate but I have tried to obtain this in case they ask me for this. I submitted the application for police certificate 3 times and my finger prints were rejected. This is the way my finger prints are and cannot be obtained better than I have tried before. I called FBI office and they mentioned that they cannot do any thing without finger prints. Please guide if some of you have any other idea and how I can get police certificate (in the US).
My application status is: “received by the visa office”. I am not sure it is in Buffalo or in Detroit? There is no change in this status since Feb 2011.
Please guide.
