Anil,

You have to send them a CSE to ask if you could submit \ collect \ get your passports stamped in-person.

Dear friends,

I flew from New Delhi to New Jersey over the weekend. Reached NYVO at 08:30 AM / 5 March along with their permission letter to appear in person to get my visa. I was called to submit my passport + 4 pictures and PPR mail at 09:30 AM and asked to collect my PP at 01:00 PM. Finally, got my visa +COPR at 02:00 PM. Returning to Delhi tomorrow and planning to land in Toronto on 15/16 April 2012.

Best wishes to every one here with their process.

Cheers..

I sent mail to NewYork-im-enquiry  @  international.gc.ca

This is what I wrote initially. On getting positive response, I asked for permission to appear on 5 March which was provided by e-mail. I took this to security there and they provided me access to the waiting room and a token number.

Dear Visa Officer,

First of all, I wish to thank you and the CIC for my visa approval and sending passport request.

As notified earlier by e-mail and through updated documents, I am currently residing in New Delhi India. It is illegal to mail passports from India therefore Indian postal service or courier companies will not accept to send the passports out of the country.

I, therefore request you to grant me permission to appear "In Person" in the first week of March 2012 at the New York Consulate to get my visa endorsed.

If permission is granted, please advise convenient week days and time for me to be there.

Also, please confirm that if I submit my passport at 08:00-08:30AM, I can get my passport back on the same day to enable me to make my travel and stay arrangements accordingly.

Yours sincerely,
Goodie good Sunny

The landing took 1 hour. Walking through Rainbow bridge to USA and come back to Canada. It is like as entering to other countries, check you Visa and Welcome. and the tell you, you PR card will be send to you in 3-4 weeks. Thats it.

Good-luck and thanks to all

Hi,
I already had US visa good for another 8 years. But immigration officer ay Newark airport was surprised to see me visiting US to get my Canadian visa. It took me some time (double screening) to explain and convince. I had printed copeis of my correspondence with NYVO and their permission letter with me. My flight arrived atr Newark at 12:40 PM and I suggested the US immigration officer to call NYVO if they had any doubts.

I know, I very close friend of mine was called for interview by NYVO. When applied for US visa from India, it was refused. When he explained this NYVO by e-mail, they asked him to send originals of few documents and untimately rejected his case.

My application was submitted to the CIO, NS in March 2010 and this makes it 24 months this march. I received a reply from buffalo when I wrote them to inform them that I had moved to Canada and on a work permit. In their response to me, they editing my file number to read B0XXXXXXXXmz.  Does anyone know what mz stands for? Has anyone seen this before? Please respond if you have.

Thank you!

Hi Moein,

Next month last week I am planning to go to Detroit to get my VIAS stamping. After getting stamping... planning to cross the border from Detroit. So for that what are the documents I need to carry.

Me and my wife will get the stamping, my baby is already Canadian citizen.

And one more thing I am worried about, in the PPR letter they mentioned that inperson application will accept, but they will deliver the passport in 10days. So I need to stay there in Detroit. Is there any way to request Visa Office to get my passports within one week.

Because I am working in INDIA, I need to come back... ( I will get max 10 days leave...  )

Please suggest me what to do.
