Well, I applied in december 2004 and got AOR in march 2005. Nothing yet. I remember that llw03c applied first than I did and got AOR also first. So I guess that I'll get the IA after llw03c does. yes, that is if you apply logic to the situation but there doesn't seem to be any logic in some of the things that go on in buffalo.

A question for poeticjustice & anyone of the applicants of buffalo from Oct, Nov & Dec 2004 who have recieved IA (Initial Assesment) has CIC given anyone an Interview Waiver but still asked for additional documents like proof of employment, proof of funds, proof of relatives in Canada etc. Please respond for the good of all.

csvinay Well, that's the new procedure the CIC in the US is following. That's in order to speed up things and get rid of the huge backlog that Buffalo is having.

Well, yes, there's a new procedure. I really hesitated to believe it till I saw it happening.
I found this posted last november on some other forum, and it tells how the new procedure was going to work.
Subject: VERY IMPORTANT TO ALL READDDDDDDDD CICIP Members: (French Version Below) As discussed in Toronto on Friday, here are the details of the changes to our US network for 2006.
In the past, Buffalo processed all waived-interview cases to conclusion, and forwarded cases requiring interview to our offices in Seattle, Detroit, Los Angeles and New York. In order to make maximum use of our resources in the US visa office network, to ensure best possible service to clients and to clarify processing responsibilities, we are changing this system.
From 1 January 2006, all US visa offices, including Buffalo, will process a blend of routine and complex cases, conducting interviews and detailed investigations of their caseload as required.
For cases in all categories, all applications will be continue to be filed initially in Buffalo. Buffalo will create electronic and paper files, and initiate background checks concerning security and criminality screening. Cases will be transferred to the processing office within a few weeks of receipt, by priority courier. As in the past, Buffalo will advise the applicant or their representative of the transfer.
For Federal cases, distribution will be evenly shared out amongst all the visa offices, including Buffalo, depending on the volume of cases received and resources available in each office, and, to the extent possible, to an office that will be geographically convenient to the applicant. The objective will be to maintain similar processing times at all US offices.
For Provincial Nominee cases, to provide provinces with a single point of contact, cases will be distributed as follows:
* All British Columbia and Alberta Provincial Nominees: Seattle * All Saskatchewan and Manitoba Provincial Nominees: Los Angeles * All Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick Provincial Nominees: New York

Guys I applied Oct04, got my AOR apr05 and 1st week of Jan06, buffalo sent me a letter that my case was transferred to NY, last week I got a docs from CIC NY, but I don't know if it's IA ?
here's what it says... "Please be advised that your immigration interview is waived pending receipt of all documents mentioned in this letter and passing the Medical Exams".
They ask me for FBI clearance and Medicals.
it has the medical docs. List of Doctors and how to apply FBI.
Is this the IA ? Have I already passed the points required ? and is my interview already waived or there is still a chance for them to interview me pending of the docs they've asked ?

Jackspade16, I think it's IA, you have passed the preliminary review, and the interview is pending upon the receipt of all the documents. If everything is okay, the interview will be waived.
Today I got my IA. I am an international student in Canada who is graduating this year.
App: Nov 30, 2004 AOR: March 15, 2005 Buffalo to NY: Jan 25, 2006 IA from NY: Feb 1, 2006
